Release physical tension and calm your mind. Our classes feature gentle, dynamic movements that explore all directions, complemented by restorative poses that encourage relaxation. Together, we’ll focus on mindful breathing, allowing ourselves the time to slow down and reconnect. Each session often concludes with a soothing guided meditation to clear your mind and rejuvenate your spirit. Suitable for beginners and all levels.
Please bring your own mat and any props such as yoga blocks and/or a strap if you have them.
Combine gentle strengthening and mobility movement with mindfulness. In this class we'll move all the joints from head to toe, while aiming to remain conscious of the breath. We'll include some standing postures and balance practice, all with the support of the chair. This class is suitable for anyone who isn't comfortable getting all the way down to the floor.
Movement combined with breath. In this class we'll move through a warm up that consists of sun salutation variations, then move on to standing postures. Variations are offered so that you can choose the intensity you wish for yourself on a given day; we recognize that some days you may want a more restful practice, while on others you'll want to challenge yourself. We hope to empower you to honour your own body and breath.
Take time for yourself and relax your body fully and deeply. This class is intended to be completely relaxing; we use bolsters, blocks, and blankets to support our bodies while we rest. Give yourself a gift; time to do nothing but breathe.
Chameleon Yoga is committed to being an inclusive and accessible place where all bodies are honoured and welcomed, regardless of age, ability, size, or gender. We passionately believe in compassion and kindness, and that anyone can practice yoga. We are committed to providing a safe space to move and breathe.
We are a family with many generations here in Nova Scotia. In all our travels, we always come home to the salty sea breeze coming off the Atlantic. Nowhere else can you expect to share storm chips, enjoy kitchen parties or feel the support of your fellow Bluenosers.
Yoga became a vital part of my life years ago, when my children were young. The practice of moving with my breath gave me space where there had been none; it helped to clear my head of the stresses of daily life, and gave me tools to handle those same stressors.
I'm an eternal student of yoga, and now also a student of healing at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. Helping people to find self acceptance and to feel good in their bodies is my greatest wish. Imagine what the world would be like if we each loved ourselves a little more, and judged each other less!
My own practice follows the tradition of Ashtanga yoga through the lineage of Manju Jois and now his daughter, Sathu Jois.
I completed my teacher training at Breathe Yoga in Toronto in 2018, and have been adding supplemental trainings ever since, such as yoga for seniors, yoga for larger bodies, trauma for movement, and yoga Nidra.
I look forward to practicing with you,
xoxo
